Ellipse Selective Waveband Technology
& Laser Treatments
Ellipse is one of the industry’s most effective award winning technology. The renowned scientist has utilised the unique SWTTM and Laser based systems to safely and effectively treat a wide range of skin conditions, including the removal of unwanted hair, vascular lesions, epidermal pigmented lesions, photo-damage and acne vulgaris.
The Ellipse has numerous peer-reviewed clinical studies which has proven that the Ellipse systems have one of the market’s highest hair clearance rates. It has a photo rejuvenation option requiring only two treatments, as opposed to more than five for most alternative systems. It can achieve incomparable acne results, and it offers a superior solution for all vascular lesions.
How does it work?
A thin layer of gel (similar to ultrasound gel) is applied to your skin before treatment, to ensure the maximum amount of light enters the skin. The Ellipse applicator is pressed against the skin and a carefully controlled pulse of visible light is released.
Potentially harmful wavelengths and wavelengths that only heat up water in the skin are removed and the remaining light is absorbed by pigment (melanin) in your hair. Melanin converts the light into heat, which travels down the hair and heats the hair matrix, preventing future hair growth.
Safe, effective hair removal
Ellipse uses short, safe bursts of intense pulsed light called Selective Waveband Technology. This effectively enables the removal of unwanted hair from all body sites in minutes. The results can last for years.
“We offer a simple and safe solutions for
a variety of skin conditions, including:

Does the treatment hurt?
No anesthetics are required, and many patients describe the treatment as practically pain-free, like a flick from a rubber band followed by a sensation similar to the feeling of gentle warmth after a day on the beach.

LASER REMOVAL OF UNWANTED HAIR
Practically pain free Laser hair removal with documented long term results.
For many women hair removal is a never ending, time consuming and laborious process, but it needn’t be such a hardship. Ellipse IPL have created an Intense Pulse Light Therapy based treatment that drastically reduces unwanted hair.
The treatment works by targeting the melanin (pigment) in the hair with the light from the system, and upon absorption the light is converted into heat. This intense heat action breaks down the hair follicle, reducing the opportunity for any re-growth and also changing the entire structure of the follicle itself; overtime altering the density and appearance of the hair until it becomes unnoticeable.
Prior to treatment the area is shaved before a thin layer of protective gel (similar to that used in ultrasound) is applied to maximise absorption. Finally the Ellipse IPL is run over the area and a succession of light pulses are filtered into the hair follicle. The unique square head technology used in Ellipse treatments offer precision and accuracy that ensures that any risk of side effects is minimal. Any potentially harmful wavelengths are removed via the Unique Dual Filtering system, meaning that the light used is completely safe and visible.
Hair grows in three different cycles and the Ellipse Permanent Hair Reduction can only successfully treat hair during its growth stage.
Therefore it is often necessary to undergo a course of 3-6 treatments ensuring that you leave at least 6-8 weeks between each session initially, and then only repeat as and when the hair returns.
To ensure as many hair follicles are targeted as possible it is also important not to undergo any hair removal for at least four weeks before the appointment or during the course of treatment. The same rule applies to any sun treatments, as a tan will raise the pigment level in the skin and have a severe effect on the treatments success.
Skin type is a fundamental affecting factor in this treatment as due to the high level of pigment in the skin darker skin tones often experience more pain during treatment though generally it has been compared to the sensation of a rubber band pinging on your skin.
With the Ellipse IPL Permanent Hair Reduction treatment there is little post-treatment care required. Although people with sensitive skin may benefit from using a soothing cream for a few days following treatment, Aloe Vera Gel will do this as well as reducing any potential redness or swelling.
Ellipse offers a fantastic investment opportunity guaranteeing permanent hair reduction.
SKIN REJUVENATION
Remove age spots, diffuse redness, Rosacea, poikiloderma of civatte and uneven pigmentation on the face and body.
Everybody loves the sunshine! It’s good for the soul and the immediate effect it has on the skin such as a tan and healthy glow are much desired. However, in the long term sun exposure decreases the production of collagen and leads to uneven pigmentation, redness and a lack of firmness.
The Ellipse IPL Skin Rejuvenation Facial Treatment rejuvenates the skin by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body’s own natural chemicals – Melanin in the pigmented areas and Haemoglobin in the red blood cells. Both these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored, and to damage the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas where vascular damage is seen.
The visible light produced by the Ellipse IPL system is carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the targets without damaging surrounding tissue, providing skin rejuvenation. This is a quick and simple treatment that does not interfere with your normal daily routine and currently offers the best anti-ageing skin treatment around.
Which type of client can be treated?
The best results are seen with clients of skin types 1-3 and skin type 4 can be treated with care. It is important that the client avoids sun exposure 30-60 days prior to treatment. Sun exposure can increase the risk of pains or burns from excessive light absorption in the epidermis. If the client has a sun tan it may be better to wait until the colour reduces to achieve the best results. The Ellipse has pre-programmed treatment suggestions for different skin types.
FACIAL THREAD VEINS
Remove many types of vascular lesions such as telangiectasias (thread veins), hemangiomas and Port Wine Stains.
The Ellipse Sirius machine offers safe and effective thread vein removal (broken capillaries) by using the (SWT) Selective Waveband Technology system to get rid of redness and broken capillaries.
The results you will achieve from the Ellipse treatments are as follows:
Removal of the Thread Vein
Decreased size of thread vein
Skin texture & pore size will be improved and the skin will look brighter & younger
How long does an Ellipse treatment take?
A single session typically lasts 10-20 minutes.
How many Ellipse treatments do I need?
The number of treatments depends on the body site and the severity of the thread vein. Clinical studies have confirmed that 1-4 treatments usually are needed, and these are timed about one month apart. Only thread veins on the face, neck and chest can be treated.

Acne can be a real spot of bother for people of all ages, and at some points in our lives we will all suffer from an outbreak.
There are many myths about the causes of acne, most surrounding diet and hygiene, however neither are accurate, as acne is the skin’s natural reaction to a hormonal imbalance.
Acne is caused by the body’s increased production of the hormone androgen (a male hormone that is present in both men and women), which stimulates the sebaceous gland to produce more oil. The increased production of oil causes pores to become blocked and prevents the oil from coming up to the skin’s surface. The blocked pore causes bacteria to feed on and break down the oil, producing spots on the skin’s surface.
Ellipse has created a pulsed light based treatment to combat the causes of acne by getting straight to the root of the problem. The unique Ellipse IPL system uses specifically selected wavelengths and optimised pulse duration and shape. The light is absorbed by haemoglobin, the red pigment in the blood, which then heats the area producing a minor injury to the sebaceous glands. This then slows down the over all production of oil that leads to acne, thus dramatically reducing the chance of spots and minimising pores in general.
The best results are achieved on inflammatory acne, best known as the sore, raised, red pimples, and it is best if the skin is as pale as possible at the time of treatment, as darker skin will absorb more of the light.
The procedure is non-invasive since the applicator only lightly touches the skin’s surface, making it relatively painless. Tolerance of pain is very individual but it has been described by many as the warm feeling one has after a day on the beach.
